The Department of Music and Dance at the University of Vermont invites applications for a tenure-track position in Music History. The candidate will be responsible for teaching most of the Western music history sequence for majors and minors in addition to introductory courses in music listening for general students. We welcome applications from scholars with an interdisciplinary perspective and who can offer courses in Film Music History and/or Popular Music Studies. The appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake an active program of research that leads to publication in peer-reviewed scholarly outlets. Ph.D. (or ABD) in Musicology or related field required. Candidates must apply on line at www.uvmjobs.com. Search for the position using department name (Music and Dance) only.
