Posting Summary

To provide specialized technical assistance for scientific research projects designed to understand molecular mechanism of lung responses to environmental insults. Maintain and manage multiple transgenic mouse strains including breeding and genotyping. Perform experiments using laboratory animals involving immunization and challenge, lung perfusion, bronchoalveolar lavage, and isolation of DNA, RNA and protein. Conduct immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA experiments. Conduct experiments with primary cells derived from human patients. Perform other routine laboratory experiments, set up specialized equipment, monitor results, and troubleshoot procedures including, Western blotting, real time PCR analyses, Prepare support materials and submit regulatory paperwork as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor’s degree in biological science or related field and three years of experience in a laboratory setting required. Molecular biology techniques and cell culture essential. Ability to work with small animals is required.
