The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer, with duties to start in late August of 2018.

The applicant must have an earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related area, a strong teaching record, and the ability to teach a variety of mathematics courses effectively. Prior experience teaching mathematics is essential, and prior experience or willingness to teach in hybrid or online formats is a plus. In addition to teaching, a modest amount of service and academic advising is also expected. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, continuing position for 9-months per year. Opportunities for teaching additional summer or online courses may be available for further compensation. UVM offers a generous benefits package, including health, dental, retirement contributions, and tuition remission.

The University of Vermont, established in 1791, is a comprehensive research university with a current enrollment of 12,000+ undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. The University is located in Burlington, Vermont, about 90 miles south of Montreal. For full consideration, the applicant must submit all of the following: (1) a cover letter detailing how the required qualifications are met , (2) a current curriculum vitae identifying specific areas of expertise, (3) a statement detailing teaching experience and interests, specific teaching strengths, and ideas for contributing to the undergraduate teaching and curriculum of the department, (4) a statement describing how the applicant can promote diversity at the University through teaching and service, and (5) names and email addresses of at least three individuals who can provide letters of reference, at least two of whom can comment on teaching.
