The Department of Radiology at the University of Vermont Medical Center in affiliation with The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is seeking a diagnostic neuroradiologist.

Ours is an academic practice of 40 full and part-time radiologists who serve as the clinical faculty for a 24 member ACGME-approved Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Vermont.

The University of Vermont Medical Center is the only tertiary referral center for the catchment area of Vermont and Northern upstate New York. The department and section are part of the larger University of Vermont Health Network in Northern Vermont and New York; comprising 6 smaller hospitals in addition to the University of Vermont Medical Center.

The Division of Neuroradiology is currently composed of 3.5 FTE diagnostic neuroradiologists and 2.0 FTE neurointerventional radiologists who share in the diagnostic neuroimaging call pool. Neurointervention is not a requirement for this position. There is an ACGME-approved neuroradiology fellowship. Facilities are state-of-the-art with a 3.0 Tesla magnet, 2 1.5 Tesla magnets, and a 1.0 Tesla open magnet. CT facilities include 256-slice scanner located in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include daily medical student, resident and fellow teaching, transdisciplinary conferences with neurosurgery, neurology, pathology and neuro-oncology, and 1:5 weeks of call, with in house coverage after hours provided by residents. Opportunities for protected time for scholarly activity are offered. A 3.0 Tesla dedicated research scanner operated by the University of Vermont MRI Center for Biomedical Imaging is housed in the Radiology Department and staffed full time by experienced research technologists as well as two MR physicists.

This is a Clinical Scholar Pathway full-time position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Applicants must have completed an ACGME accredited neuroradiology fellowship and must be ABR certified or eligible and CAQ certified or eligible. The position is 1.0 FTE neuroradiology although experience with additional radiology subspecialties is desirable. Experience in radiology informatics and information technology is preferred. There is an opportunity for departmental leadership for the appropriately qualified individual.

The compensation package is competitive and faculty rank is commensurate with experience.

Vermont is a beautiful, safe, and active place to live. Burlington, Vermont, has continually been voted one of the nicest cities in which to live as well as one of America’s most “fit” cities due to the four seasons of outdoor activities. Burlington is located on Lake Champlain, 45minutes from world-class skiing, 1.5 hours by car from Montreal, and has an international airport with direct flights to many major cities.

The University is especially interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service. Applicants are requested to address this goal in their cover letter.
