Posting Summary

Provide technical assistance for scientific research projects designed to understand molecular mechanisms of lung injury and infection and the innate immune response. Typical assignments will include in vitro cell culture, maintaining mouse colonies, mouse experimentation, isolating DNA/RNA/protein from cells or tissue with attention to preparation beforehand of all reagents and media. Responsible for overall laboratory management, supply ordering, and graduate /undergraduate student mentoring.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field and prior research laboratory experience and/or laboratory coursework required. Experience with molecular biology techniques. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications to compile research data. Effective writing, organizational and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience working with laboratory mice desirable. Proficiency with data analysis applications required to analyze and report research data desirable. Experience with quantitative RT-PCR, ELISAs, Bio-Plex and cloning desirable.
