Posting Summary

Provide supervision of student employees and oversee security and safety during evening hours for the Bailey/Howe Library. Supervise public service points, assist Library users with problems and access issues, enforce Library policy, oversee stacks maintenance, and coordinate projects with other Library and university staff. Drive UVM vehicle to fill in for courier service when needed.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

High School diploma, two years college coursework, and three years related experience which includes customer service required. Working knowledge of computer systems and standard application software required. Effective communication skills required. Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain, and drivers check required.

Initial employment is contingent upon successful completion of physical screening:
Must be able to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 53 lbs. occasionally floor to waist level. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 30 lbs. occasionally waist to shoulder level. Push/pull 20 lbs. Must be able to carry 53 lbs. occasionally. Climb ladders and stand/sit for prolonged periods of time. Repetitive forward reaching required.

Desirable Qualifications

Previous experience in libraries and supervision of student employees desirable.

Special Conditions Weekend work required, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 3rd Shift (Shift differential applies.), 75% of full time with full benefits package
